Rosetown native Mathew McDonald will be taking his hockey career to Alberta, after signing with the St. Paul Junior Canadiens Hockey Club.

The Canadiens announced the "barn burner" of a signing on Friday night. McDonald collected 17 points in 30 games for the Martensville Marauders AA squad, along with 49 PIMS.

When asked why he chose the Canadiens, McDonald had this to say:

"My biggest reason for choosing the Canadiens was the coaching staff with their high level hockey experience and their ability to produce winning teams. I plan on being a hard working player with a high desire to win.."
