The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers may have finally locked in the duo to lead the team on the bench this year. With the departure of Rylan Ferster, Larry Wintoneak will take over for the foreseeable future in the Head Coach position.

The Assistant Coach role will be filled for the remainder of the season by Garrett Turner. Hailing from Eston, Saskatchewan, Turner has 12 years of coaching experience including 3 at the college level.  An award winner with Hockey Alberta's Future Leaders Scholarship (also working with Hockey Alberta for 4 years) he is a graduate of Red Deer College with a Coaching and Sports Performance Diploma."It's an incredible opportunity for me.  My goal is to be a head coach in this league and I'm coming in to a great situation here where I get to work close to my hometown and alongside Larry (Wintoneak) who is a very well respected coach with a lot of experience in the league."

A guest coach for Team Alberta's U16 Camp twice,Turner has also organized and been apart of hockey skills and skill development in higher levels. Turner spoke about the Klippers season so far,"We have seen a lot of positives with our group both on and off the ice over the last two weeks especially.

Winning 3 straight on the road was a big step for us and it has helped make a great atmosphere in the room."With the Klippers now on a four game winning streak,Turner told us what they need to focus on going forward."We need to continue to stick to our process, keep taking it one day at a time and most importantly we have to enjoy coming to the rink every day."
