The Kindersley Sr. Klippers are set to begin the Sask West Hockey League season once again. The SWHL is set to begin on October 25 with an 18 game schedule for each team. The league is up 4 teams from last year as the Eatonia Huskies and Kerrobert Tigers rejoined the league and Edam and Hafford are joining the league as well to bring the total up to 10. Kindersley be in some pre-season action on Saturday October 19 as the Kerrobert Tigers are headed to the West Central Events Centre to play at 7:30 pm. The team will have new faces as veterans Byron Ismond and John Haughn have retired along with Jesse Ismond and John Calkins headed to Eston to play for the Ramblers in the Sask Valley Hockey League. Luke Sproule will remain in goal for the Sr. Klippers after a stellar season last year where he was 14-3-1 with a 3.69 GAA and one shutout. Kyle Donaldson lead the team in scoring last year with 19 goals and 29 assists for 48 points in 19 games. The first home game of the regular season for the Sr. Klippers will be on Saturday October 26 against the Macklin Mohawks at 8 pm. All road games will be broadcast on Classic Hits 1330/1210 AM.
