The Kindersley Jr. Klippers faced defeat as they opened the season against their rivals, the Battlefords North Stars for the first two games of the 2019-2020 season.

Friday marked the home, and season, opener for the SJHL team and despite registering the first point on the scoreboard, the Klippers ended the game six points shy of the victory.

The home opener attracted just over 700 spectators to the West Central Events Centre who watched as the Jr. Klippers lost to their rival, the Battlefords North Stars, seven to one.

On Saturday night, the Klippers had a chance to answer back, as they did eloquently in pre-season action, yet were unable to follow suit in game two of the regular season and were unable to claim the victory.

The Kindersley team rallied back and put four points on the scoreboard, however, the goals were not enough to steer the North Stars off their course and the Battlefords put an extra three points on the board, finishing the game seven to four.

The Iron Horse Kindersley Jr. Klippers will go back to the drawing board and will work to put their first win on the record this coming Friday when they take on the Estevan Bruins from the West Central Events Centre.
