Flatlanders Speedway in Kindersley was established in 2002. The track was built with a tri-oval (D) design, one that isn't usually popular amongst dirt tracks. The track often features trucks, street stock and thunder divisions on race-day, and has hosted various travelling circuits such as the Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series, and specialty classes like IMCA Modifieds and Sprint Cars.

The NPP Late Model Series commended Kindersley for their hospitality and fanfare back in 2012 and 2013, and the track has been praised by some for it's tricky triangle. Drivers appreciate the different challenge and tend to have a blast at Flatlanders.

The "D" was built in part to give Kindersley's track a unique feature, but also to attempt to create a skill gap. Track co-founder Chris Douglas believes that when the local drivers would race on other tracks, (usually a standard oval) the Flatlanders regulars carried an advantage.

Problems often arose due to the tracks location, as the designated spot 4 miles west of Kindersley was right in the middle of a slough. It wasn't an uncommon sight to see a street stock plunge into the large pool of water.

a consistent race season at Flatlanders, but with the track being ushered into it's second life, a new racing experience is set to take place just opposite from where it once laid.
