Kindersley’s Dakota Buttar has wasted no time in 2019 as he’s attempted to ride seven bulls in two different events already this year.

January 4th, Buttar attended the Monster Energy Buckoff in New York, NY, where his first bull, The Don, bucked him off with only 0.6 seconds remaining on the eight-second clock. Buttar’s remaining three attempts over the weekend didn’t turn out much better with the 26-year-old not registering a completed ride throughout the event.

The week following, Buttar was in the windy city of Chicago, IL, for the Chicago Invitational where he would get three rounds in an effort to get on the scoreboard.

Out of the gates on day one Buttar rode the bull, Real Gun, and between the two of them were able to pull off an 87 point ride. The last two rounds did not go in Buttar’s favour as he racked up two more buck-offs during the Chicago event.

Buttar ended the Invitational in 8th place that he shared with another Saskatchewan bull rider, Tanner Byrne of Prince Albert.

After the first two weeks in 2019, Buttar is currently holding 26th place in the world rankings, he finished in 17th place last year and earned $117,000 for his efforts.
