Tonight sees a win or go home scenario for two teams in the SVHL. The Eston Sr. Ramblers head to Outlook to battle the Sr. Ice Hawks in game three of the first round series. The Sr. Ramblers took home game one 3-2 in Eston, before the Sr. Ice hawks answered back with 5-2 win this past Sunday in Outlook.

Head coach and forward of the Ramblers, Cam Oliphant knows the game will be a good test for them, but it won’t come easy.

“It comes down to last, you know, final game winner takes all. They got a pretty good team. They got some elite scorers and some pretty good defenseman. Hopefully we have a good game on Wednesday.”

Since flipping the calendar to 2022, Eston went 3-3 over the final 6 games of the season. Finishing with an 11-7 record which landed them 4th in the overall standings.

Oliphant is aware of how the Ramblers played down the stretch but credits the team’s persistence when everyone is present.

“The last half of the season we weren't playing as well but we’re a pretty deep team, so when everyone is there, we’re playing well. Our biggest strength is how deep we are as a team.”

Game 3 is slated to start at 8:00pm at the Jim Kook Centre in Outlook.

As for other action in the SVHL, Dinsmore starts their series with Kenaston this Saturday from the Kenaston Arena at 8:00 pm, before game 2 being held at the Dinsmore Arena next Monday at 8:00 pm. Kyle awaits the winner of Eston and Outlook.
