All three West Central Wheat Kings hockey teams are pressing to get in the playoffs, as the end of the regular season looms.

Looking at U13, all teams get in the playoffs, so teams are jocking for position. West Central is currently in 11th heading into this weekend's action.

Landon Reschny continues to lead the team in scoring, but will be sitting out a one game suspension this weekend. The game will be in Macklin on Sunday at 2:15 pm.

Reschny has 25 goals and 38 points in 22 games played this season. Right behind is Anderson Reschny with 12 goals and 33 points from the blueline. And Carter Torry is third, with 14 goals and 21 points.

U15

The U15 West Central Wheat Kings are currently sitting in 9th position in the standings, one point behind Martensville for the final playoff spot. The regular season is hitting the home stretch, as nine games remain.

The team starts a two game road trip in eastern Saskatchewan this weekend, starting in Yorkton on Saturday at 3:30 pm, and then it wraps up in Melville on Sunday at 2:15 pm.

Leading the team in scoring is Tristan Mitchell-McElhone, who is on a stint with the U18 AAA Swift Current Legionnaires. The forward has 15 goals and 29 points in 21 games played. Kaden Sperle is second with 9 goals and 24 points in 21 games played. And wrapping up the top three, is Austin Schafer, who has 12 goals and 21 points in 16 games played.

U18

The U18 West Central Wheat Kings are on the road this weekend as well. The team will have two games, starting in Saskatoon against the Sabercats on Saturday at 1:45 pm. Then they will travel a couple of minutes north as they will play Warman on Sunday at 5pm.

The U18 Wheat Kings are currently just five points behind the Sabercats for the eighth and final playoff spot, so a win on Saturday against them would be huge.

The team only has four games left, so it looks like they will have to pretty much win out to get into the playoff picture.

Leading scorers for the U18 Wheat Kings begin with Kayden Cey, who has 18 goals and 25 points in 25 games played. Right behind him is Austin Burton with 10 goals and 18 points in 29 games played. And sitting in 3rd, is Jared Abrams, with 6 goals and 17 points in 29 games played.
