The majority of teams in the West Central Region played in their second football game of the season this week, and it was another strong showing on the field.

We begin with 6-Man football in 1A Conference 2. There are four teams within the conference that all happen to be in the West Central Region, including the Plenty Wildcats who were the 2016 Provincial Championship winning team. The Plenty Wildcats had their home opener in Week 2 of the 2017 football season, and earned their second straight win of the season over Macklin 62-22.

Kerrobert and Eatonia make up the other two teams in the conference and faced one another in Eatonia on Thursday night. The Kerrobert Rebels dominated every aspect of the game to win 62-0 and stand alongside Plenty with a record of two wins and zero losses.

After the first two weeks of the year, it's pretty clear that Plenty and Kerrobert will set up two exciting match-ups against one another that are still left in the regular season schedule. For Macklin and Eatonia, these two teams will look to have competitive games against one another, and could maybe shock one of the powerhouse teams in their conference later in the season.

There are three teams in the West Central Region that are in the 2A 6-man Conference 2 including Rosetown, Biggar and Outlook. They happen to play in the same conference as other teams including Aberdeen, Hafford, Dalmeny and Clavet.

In Week 2 of the season, Rosetown held their home opener against Clavet and lost 46-20. Rosetown will look to get back in the win column in Week 3 with an away game in Outlook. Outlook was given a bye during Week 2, and Week 3 happens to be their home opener against a West Central rival.

The Biggar Blazers also had their home opener against the Aberdeen Crusaders, and earned a big win on home turf 76-22 to move to 1 win and 1 loss. Biggar travels to Clavet for Week 3.

The 9-Man Conference 4 has been dominated by West Central teams in the region through the first two weeks of the football season. Kindersley, Unity and Delisle are all in the same conference and all sit atop of the standings after Week 2.

In the home opener, the Unity Warriors defeated Meadow Lake 77-0 and are tied for first place in the conference. Unity will have a home game in Week 3 against John Paul II from North Battleford.

There was a rivalry game between Kindersley and Delisle played on Delisle's home turf on Friday night. Delisle proved to be the better team earning a 22-2 victory to match Unity at 2 wins and 0 losses. Kindersley now moves to 1 win a 1 loss on the year. For Week 3, Delisle will head up to Meadow Lake on Thursday night while Kindersley will play their home opener against Martensville who is still looking for their first win of the year.
