A variety of West Central Western Hockey League content this morning.

The playoffs continued last night for Delisle's Jhett Larson and the Red Deer Rebels. They were back on home ice down 2-0 in their second round series against the Edmonton Oil Kings, and despite a scrappy comeback effort, couldn't avoid going down 3-0 headed into a now do-or-die stretch of their season.

Things went back and forth all night, and here is a video of Larson scoring the game tying goal to complete the Rebels comeback with just under seven minutes left in the third period:

That goal was Larson's second of the playoffs to give him four points overall in the postseason. The teams would coast from there into overtime, where St. Louis Blues prospect Jake Neighbours ended it for the Oil Kings not even halfway into the final frame.

Larson and the Rebels have to feel down after losing such a winnable game after a pair of shutouts to begin the series. They won a hard fought stretch of games against the Brandon Wheat Kings in the opening round, but haven't been able to squeak out a win since.

Looking at the Wheat Kings organization, they released some news regarding a West Central native, and now out-going member of their front office in Rosetown's Doug Gasper.

Brandon finished the 2021-22 Regular Season with a 35-28-3-2, and included in the team's release, they thank Gasper for all of the work he has done to set the team up headed into next season and the future.
