The Village of Dinsmore continues to raise funds for the Dinsmore (AGT) Memorial Arena, through a special land project being done by residents of the community.

Kelly Beattie, who took part in the land project, explains how it all started.

“We just did a land rent program. A local farmer, actually Cliff and Rod Beattie, offered just a quarter of land rent free, so we took it to make some funds for the rink. I think this is our fifth year doing it actually, so hopefully a little better year next year. We're definitely short on the rain this year. We had a pretty thin flax crop, but the price is pretty good, so hopefully we'll make a little bit of money on it since most of our expenses are all donated. So, that helps a lot.”

Beattie also thanked all who helped to get the land project seeded and harvested for the 2021 growing season.

“A lot of local farmers helped, if I try to mention them all, I'll probably miss somebody, but lots of local farmers provide lots of, like In Kind Volunteer services. Anything from seeding, spraying, hauling fertilizer and chemical and seed.”

Beattie also personally thanked Greenleaf Agri Ventures, GMAC’s, The Rack for diesel fuel, Dinsmore Auto Care and H and S Backhoe for drinks, Viterra, Nutrien, River Valley Ag Services, Bayer BASF, Nufarm, Bloomer Seeds, and Western Sales for bringing out the X9 combine.
