The Town of Biggar will be hosting a special block party tonight in conjunction with an announcement about the Revitalization Project.  The anticipated cost of the project is $7.5 million, with $2.2 million already raised by a volunteer fundraising campaign, and the Brownlee family has matched all donations up to $2.5 million with the remaining to be paid of the Town of Biggar.

The approved project items in the Business Core include decorative thermoplastic crosswalks, accessibility ramps, landscaping and trees, site furnishing including decorative bollards, benches, bike racks, recycle and garbage receptacles.

The Town will also install accessible sidewalks throughout Main Street to make things easier to visit businesses while being safer for pedestrians.

The project continues to get some celebrity support, as Saskatchewan born actor Kim Coates has thrown his name in the ring to help the project moving forward.

The block party will begin at the corner of Main Street and 3rd Avenue at 4:00 pm.
