This won't be an average year for Telemiracle in many ways, not least of which is holding the event largely virtually. The need for donations, however, hasn't diminished this year just because the event looks a little bit different.

With that in mind, Telemiracle is asking for support in a way they don't do very often, but one which has become popular in the time of COVID-19. They're reaching out to ask people to contribute to their online 50/50.

"Last spring, when the world changed, we had to sit down and we realized Telemiracle had to change as well," said chairperson of Telemiracle 45, Brian Angstadt. "We're excited to announce the first-ever 50/50 in support of Telemiracle. We just wanted to think outside the box for ways to raise money for the people of Saskatchewan."

The love the people of Saskatchewan had shown other 50/50 draws for charity helped convince Angstadt and company that this would be a good way to raise money. Tickets are sold at a link you can find on the Telemiracle website.

"It's had some good legs," Angstadt said of the early 50/50 returns. "It's been going pretty strong. The 50/50 itself, the draw date will be on Friday, February 26. We'll be announcing the winner on February 27 on the countdown show leading up to the broadcast on Telemircale 45."

The Kinsmen clubs across Saskatchewan look forward to Telemircale every year, as the money raised goes to the Kinsmen Foundation. Angstadt emphasized exactly where all of this money ends up.

"All the money raised from this raffle, and the all the money Telemiracle raises in other forms of fundraisers all stay in the province of Saskatchewan," he said. "It is for the people of Saskatchewan. That's why it's named Saskatchewan's charity, because every dollar raised stays in this province."

Telemircale 45 will begin on February 27 at 9:00 and will end the next day at 5:00. Most of the talent will be taping their performances ahead of time or appearing via video chat.
