Update 3 - Friday March 12 8:00 am

Team Saskatchewan closed out the preliminary round in the afternoon yesterday, with a 7-5 victory against Team Nova Scotia to give them a 6-2 record heading into the championship pool.

They enter the next round third place in the standings, behind Wild Card skips Glenn Howard and Kevin Koe. One of Saskatchewan skip Matt Dunstone's two losses came against Koe, and Howard is the next opponent for Saskatchewan today at 1:30.

They are back on the ice for 7:30 tonight against Brendan Bottcher and Team Alberta, and will play two games again at the same time tomorrow against Team Northern Ontario's Brad Jacobs, and Team Manitoba's Jason Gunnlaugson.

Dunstone is working to end Saskatchewan's 41 year Canadian men's curling championship drought.

Update 2 - Thursday March 11 8:00 am

Saskatchewan was able to defeat PEI 10-5 yesterday, as they managed to avoid dropping two games during the late tournament draw.

Team Saskatchewan holds a 5-2 record heading into the final day of the prelims, and Matt Dunstone will be looking for a win today against Nova Scotia to try and maybe give his team a second place finish in Pool B.

They rebounded nicely at night after nothing went their way in the morning against Kevin Koe, and his then undefeated squad.

Koe would lose his undefeated record last night against Ontario's Team Epping; as Saskatchewan's only two losses so far have come against the other rinks in the top 3.

Saskatchewan will be out there this afternoon for the 2:30 draw against Nova Scotia, before the Brier enters it's elimination stage.

Update 1 - Wednesday 1:30 pm

After a 9-2 defeat to Kevin Koe and his second Wild Card rink this morning, Team Saskatchewan is not sitting pretty with one loss anymore. Skip Matt Dunstone credited Koe after the game by saying his rink is undeniably the best in the field right now.

Saskatchewan would give up 2 in the first and 3 in the third, and Dunstone said they played well, but just didn't get the results.

Team Saskatchewan was unable to give Koe his first loss of the Brier, but now must shift their attention to tonights draw against Team PEI at 7:30.

Original - Wednesday March 10 8:00 am

Matt Dunstone and Team Saskatchewan moved into the Tim Hortons Brier bubble shortly after their Scotties counterparts moved out, for this novel year of national championship curling.

Follow the link for a full story on Team Dunstone entering the bubble.

A now publicized two-week stopover in Wadena took place before the tournament, where the curling club provided the wherewithal for the team to quarantine, and more importantly, practice for the first time in months as a unit. Also present at their practice facility was a Brier level sheet of ice, as technicians Scott Comfort and Dustin Mikush really went out of there way to accommodate Team Saskatchewan.

The men are off to a 4-1 start at this years event, with their only loss coming in a 6-3 defeat against Team Ontario.

Their first win came against Team Nunavut 10-2 to open up the tournament, before the only loss. Team Saskatchewan has won 3 straight since, putting up at least 6 scores in each of their wins.

A notable win came the other night against Brad Gushue and Team Canada, and Saskatchewan will face another tough test this morning at 9:30 with a draw against skip Kevin Koe and the second wild card rink. They will take on PEI tonight at 7:30, before closing out the preliminary round tomorrow against Nova Scotia.
