The Sr. Klippers are getting ready for a couple of series to begin this weekend. One is against the Wilkie Outlaws in league play, and the other is against the Eston Ramblers in provincial play.

Focusing on the Wilkie series, Sr. Klippers player Byron Ismond, said the team has to slow down two key players, to give them a chance to win.

“Basically, you got to keep their top guys off the scoreboard. I mean, Derek Keller has always been their biggest threat and I think if you keep him at bay, you're going to be alright. So, I think that and their power play and (Brock) Harrison, they seem to get pretty fortunate and get lots of power plays. So, if you can stay out of the box, you're going to do just fine with Wilkie as well,” Ismond said.

Ismond added, the top players on their team matchup quite well with Wilkie’s.

“We got a pretty good top six that are always a threat and up and down the lineup.  We got a couple big defensemen with Big Mac (Steve MacIntyre) and Tate Page and then we got Ryberg and Misskey. So, we're pretty sound defensively, and our top lines are always a threat to every team in the league,” Ismond also said.

Then in the other provincial playoff series against Eston, Ismond will be up against his brother Jesse, something he can’t remember ever doing competitively.

“Yeah, it'll be neat. I mean, I don't think to my recollection, I've ever played a competitive hockey game against any of my family members. I don't mean that our shinny matches and road hockey matches weren't competitive, but it'll be a whole different aspect, it'll be neat,” Ismond added.

Classic Hits Radio will have all the road games from both the Eston series and the Wilkie one. Game one between Wilkie is tomorrow night at the SaskCan Community Centre at 8:00 pm, with the pregame show beginning at 7:45 pm. As for the Eston series, game one will be in Kindersley on Monday, February 21 at 5:30 pm, with game two back in Eston next Friday, February 25, at 8:30 pm, and Classic Hits Radio will have the call beginning at 8:15 pm.
