The Kindersley Sr. Klippers and Unity Miners played game three of their best of five series last night with Unity needing a win to stay alive. Things started off well for the Miners as they got on the board first with Kristian St. Onge scoring from Jared Risling. That's the way it stayed until about five minutes left, when Kindersley tied it up on a nice hard working goal by Dylan Francis, with the assist going to Jarret Reichert. Then less than forty seconds later Shayne Neigum converted on a nice rush to give the Sr. Klippers the lead. Neigum wasn't done there as with just under two minutes left he setup Kyle Donaldson nicely to make the score 3-1 heading into the first intermission.

After 1: Sr. Klippers 3 - 1 Miners, shots 15-7 Sr. Klippers

Things stayed relatively even on the scoreboard for the majority of the second period, but Kindersley continued to pepper Unity goaltender Kyle Turk. It wasn't until there was just over eight minutes left in the period until captain Troy Boisjoli scored on a one timer setup by Jared Erickson and Brody Ryberg. Then late in the period Jarret Reichert scored an absolute beauty for his first goal in the SWHL, as he stepped around two defenders and went upstairs on Unity goaltender Kyle Turk.

After 2: Sr. Klippers 5 - 1 Miners, shots 17-8 Sr. Klippers in the period, 32-15 Sr. Klippers overall

The third period saw some fisticuffs as Shayne Neigum took on Nolan Acton at centre ice in a spirited tilt with both players landing some solid punches. Kindersley got one more in the third period as Kyle Donaldson got his second of the game from Jarret Reichert and Byron Ismond. Kindersley coasted to a 6-1 win to complete the three game sweep of the Unity Miners.

FINAL: Sr. Klippers 6 - 1 Miners, shots 27-10 Sr. Klippers in the period, 59-25 Sr. Klippers overall

Kindersley will play Wilkie in round two after Macklin completed the sweep of Kerrobert last night, 8-1. Macklin plays Edam in the second round. Game times are to be announced shortly.
