Jade Prior is a young artist originally from Kindersley, but now based out of Saskatoon. She has had some art up at local cafe's, and she is just one piece of a very creative family.

“It’s funny because my whole family kind of is” laughed Jade, “My mom does nail art and stuff, and my sister Vicky is in cakes and bakery things; so we are all just on the artsy side now.”

Even her roommate and sister Mercedes has that certain flare, currently working as a hairstylist in Saskatoon. Jade has been drawn to art for as long as she can remember, and apparently always a specific type.

“My aunt sent me a picture of my drawings from pre-school, and I was already drawing pets then.”

This furrever passion has led to the subject of many of her paintings. Jade specializes so far in what is called ‘commission art’, something that can be very specific at times.

Still her passion has always been painting pets, and seeing the enjoyment it brings to the people who request them. I asked her if she could paint my dalmatian, and she figured she could probably add spots to her canine painting repertoire.

This artist is just one of our many empowering female’s being featured today, as Jade was excited to be apart of our International Women’s Day lineup.
