After their final preseason skate Thursday night, the Kindersley Jr. A Klippers tied up one more loose end before the start of the season by naming their leadership group. Heading into his third year with the Klippers, the coaching staff had decided on the stalwart defenceman a long time ago during the offseason. Snarr didn't find out until Thursday night.

"I was just super excited, really. It's a cool thing to be named captain, but really our whole entire leadership group is special, like every single one of us could be the captain."

Native to Calgary, Alberta, Snarr joined the Klippers as an 18-year-old and spent the last two seasons with the Klippers. In that first year, Snarr put up just a single point in 51 games with the team, but his 46 penalty minutes on the year show just how much he was involved on the ice. Snarr will be the stabilizing presence on the defensive side of things for a group that likes to step up into the play. Before joining the Klippers he played his minor hockey in Calgary with the Calgary Flames U18 AAA team in the Alberta Elite Hockey League.

The smart, smooth skating defenceman wore the 'A' for the three games the Klippers were able to play last year before things shut down. While he looks at the title displayed on his sweater as an honour, Snarr says it won't change his approach as the team gets started against the Battlefords North Stars.

"I think it's an honor to wear the 'C', but it's doesn't really change anything. It shouldn't change my game, shouldn't change my attitude. It all starts tonight with our preparation and we'll go into Battleford tomorrow (Friday) and grind."

The Klippers play their first game against the Battlefords North Stars Friday night at 7:30pm. Nick Nielsen will have the call and a full introduction to the team on Country 104. You can find the link to listen in below.
