S-G-I is reporting disturbing results from their Operation Student Safety Blitz.
Over 800 tickets were issued by police during the two-day blitz, and that number included 352 tickets for speeding in school zones.
Kelley Brinkworth with the Crown Insurer says it's a shocking number, but is hopeful that will encourage drivers to be more careful in school zones.
"You know maybe the full kind of shock of the number will get somebody thinking, yikes, maybe I don't have kids that go to school yet but one day I could. Just put yourself into that position. Think, what if these were my kids. The risk of hitting somebody is not a risk you should be taking."
Police also issued 179 other speeding tickets, 125 seatbelt tickets, and 61 for cellphone violations during the blitz.
