Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

  • R.M. of Biggar including Biggar and Springwater
  • R.M. of Marriott south of Biggar
  • R.M. of Monet including Elrose Wartime and Forgan
  • R.M. of Mountain View including Herschel and Stranraer
  • R.M. of Pleasant Valley including McGee and Fiske
  • R.M. of Snipe Lake including Eston and Plato
  • R.M. of St Andrews including Rosetown and Zealandia

At 9:03 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to toonie size hail and heavy rain. This line of severe thunderstorms currently stretches from near Eston northweastward to near Perdue, and is slowly moving eastward. Loonie-sized hail has been reported.

2nd Update: 7:17 PM CST

Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

  • R.M. of Kindersley including Kindersley Brock and Flaxcombe

At 7:17 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to toonie size hail and heavy rain. This severe thunderstorm is currently near Beadle, Saskatchewan and is slowly moving eastward. Loonie-sized hail has been reported.

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

At 4:36 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to toonie size hail and heavy rain.A severe line of thunderstorms extending from Primate to Eatonia is slowly moving northeastward. Loonie-sized hail has been reported.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the entire west central region, including Kindersley, Rosetown, Biggar, Elrose and Eston and all surrounding rurals.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

Severe thunderstorms may develop along the Alberta border late this afternoon and early this evening. An initial line of non-severe thunderstorms will make its way into west-central Saskatchewan early this afternoon.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
