Sask Energy customers have roughly four months left to get money back when they replace existing natural gas equipment in their homes with high-efficiency models.

Brian Miller, Manager of Government and Media Relations for Sask Energy provides details on the Residential Equipment Replacement Rebate program.

"The rebate program is part of Sask Energy's commitment to a greener Saskatchewan and as part of that commitment we are very interested in helping Sask energy customers lower their energy costs and also at the same time reduce their greenhouse gas emissions."

Sask Energy's Residential Equipment Replacement Rebate program will be ending on June 30th.

According to Miller, depending on the type of equipment being replaced, rebates can be up to $2000 per home for an eligible boiler replacement, or $1000 for eligible tankless water heaters that replace existing equipment. Furnace replacement rebates of $650 are available for 97% efficiency models and $325 for eligible 96% efficiency models .$800 rebates are also available for combi-boilers that replace existing equipment and $100 for the installation of a heat recovery ventilator in an existing home.

Miller provides some input on the benefits of making these replacements.

"The benefits are when you replace old natural gas equipment with new high-efficiency models you lower your energy use, you lower your emissions, you make your home more comfortable and because you are using less energy you also save money on your Sask Energy bill."

Miller says the best way to take advantage of the rebate is to contact a Sask Energy Network Member who can help homeowners determine eligible equipment options for their home. These network members will then complete and submit the rebate application on the customer's behalf.
