The Annual General Meeting of the Rosetown & District Chamber of Commerce was held at the Rosetown Civic Center Monday night.

The Chamber went over multiple discussion points throughout the evening but the most exciting part was the unveiling of the new logo that represents the Chamber.

Kimiko Shimoda, the lead designer for the logo and Vice-President of the Chamber explained the meaning behind the logo.

"I wanted to create a logo for the chamber that reflects what we're trying to accomplish for Rosetown and surrounding areas. I came up with the idea of gears, because in order for a machine to function, all the gears or pieces must work together. Just like we, the Chamber need to work closely with the community in order to thrive and prosper. The one red gear shows that the chamber is just a small portion of a bigger picture, we're all working towards one common goal and everyone is needed in order to achieve it."

Both the President Jenna Moore and the Vice-President Kimiko Shimoda were extremely excited to present the new logo.

Kimiko also went on to say that she had a lot of fun creating the logo, and that she is very invested in the community as she has bought a house here and loves doing anything and everything she can to help us grow as a community.
