Organizers of the Kindersley Rodeo are getting excited to see a full house at the West Central Events Centre for their upcoming show. The annual event in town has not been held recently due to the pandemic, but they are excited to bring back a full event once again.

There is always room for more volunteers, but Rodeo President Sam Hawken says all of the help that's been received so far is much appreciated. Great assistance from other pieces of the puzzle have contributed greatly as well.

"There's been lots of sponsorship help, been more than great there, that's for sure," said Hawken, "The Town of Kindersley has been great to deal with as far as renting the rink and anything else we have to do with them. It's been good."

Hawken then laid out the weekend plan. Opening night on Thursday will see a discounted entry for anyone bringing a non-perishable food item. Friday is "kid's night", and Hawken explains why it was moved to the second day of the weekend.

"Kids night always used to be on a Thursday night, but we've been asked to move it to the Friday night so we can get our kids home at a decent time and we don't make the teachers mad on Friday because they are all crabby," laughed Hawken.

From there he also mentioned that the Daring Diva Trick Riding team will be in attendance all three nights, and also that the rodeo clown being featured is a west central attraction.

"We have Tyson Wagner. I think he grew up in Macklin, and he's going to be our rodeo clown for the weekend. Heard great things about him."

One thing the event will be missing however is an added element to the presentation, as sponsorship totals this year did not allow the group to schedule a big screen for video replay of the action. What won't be missing, is the annual rodeo dance making it's return, with Mitch Larock and the 4:54 Band.
