Beginning May 1st, SaskPower could be charging more for electricity.

The Crown Corporation made an application to the Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel for a 13% increase.

The panel will be reviewing the request and provide recommendations on the fairness of the increases considering the interests of the customer, corporation and public.

If the rate increase is approved, the new rate will mean an increase of roughly $10  per month for residential customers in cities, towns and villages, and roughly $25  per month for farm custmers.

Comments and submissions can be taken to the Panel until March 9th.
