Though the weather won't exactly lend itself to being outdoors next week the way it has the last week or so, there are some new guidelines for outdoor activities in Saskatchewan as of today. The latest update from the province includes good news for golf courses and campgrounds, as well as children and youth day camps.

For day camps, the province still recommends doing things online as much as possible. However, under the updated guidelines, multiple groups of eight can participate in activities for sport, music, art, dance, drama and educational program day camps as long as space permits.

Golf courses got some news they've been lobbying for since last year, as the province made two minor tweaks to existing rules around golf. Tee times will only be required to be a minimum of eight minutes apart instead of ten like they were last year, and tournaments will be allowed to happen, though award ceremonies and receptions must happen virtually.

As for campgrounds, the online reservation system is set to be launched for camping next week. This year, camping will open to 100 per cent capacity for overnight stays and limited-term campsites. Park, playground and aquatic access will be permitted, while all events must comply with the current public health order.  Laundry services will also be permitted by following guidelines that include face coverings and maintaining physical distance.

The province also said in the release there would be other guidelines announced in the coming weeks, including those around youth sports and individual sporting activities.
