As we embark on Family Week this week, there are a wide variety of programs taking place at parks throughout the province.

Deanna Jacobs, Director of Visitor Experiences and Public Programming for the Government of Saskatchewan provides some insight into some of the fun family friendly activities available this week.

"It's a variety of different activites. Anything from snowshoeing, astronomy programs, cross country skiing, crokicurl and skating. We even have some winter fun based camps being offered as well. As part of Family Week we are offering a BOGO so buy one get one free camping from February 18th-27th."

Residents can book one electrical or non-electric site at Buffalo Pound, Cypress Hills, Duck Mountain, Echo Valley, Great Blue Heron, Moose Mountain or Pike Lake and get the second night free.

Jacobs reflects on the opportunities this week provides.

"Family Week is a great time to get out and visit our parks. So Buffalo Pound and Cypress Hills there's alot of great things happening. They are beautiful in the winter and were excited there is still some snow and so there's lot's of great things for you to build some family memories in one of our parks."

For those who prefer to venture on their own, several self-guided activities are also available, including tobagganing, skating, ice-fishing, campfires and more.
