In the May 2 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority, they are reporting a total of 238 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 238 cases, there are 19 in the Far North West zone, one in Far North East, 22 in North West zone, 23 in North Central zone, four in North East zone, 40 in Saskatoon zone, eight in Central West zone, eight in Central East zone, and 59 in Regina zone.

There are five new cases in the South West zone (all five in the South West subzone 1), 21 new cases are in the South Central zone, and 22 new cases are in the South East zone.

Four cases pending residence have been assigned to the following zones: North West, 1; North Central, 2; and Regina, 1.

Six of the cases have pending residence information.

That brings the provincial total number of COVID-19 cases to 41,599, of which 2,437 are considered active.

There are currently 92 active cases in the South West zone.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 236 (19.3 new cases per 100,000 population).

There have been 253 new recoveries, bringing that provincial total to 38,667.

There was one deaths reported in the province related to COVID-19, in the 60-69 age group from the Central East zone. The province's COVID-19 death toll is now at 495.

There are 167 people in the hospital. One hundred and twenty-eight people receiving inpatient care: one in the Far North East zone, three in the North West zone, 3 in the North Central zone, 53 in the Saskatoon zone, six in the Central East zone, 53 in the Regina zone, one in the South West zone, three in the South Central zone, and five in the South East zone.

There are 39 people in intensive care - one in the North Central zone, 14 in the Saskatoon zone,  two in the Central East zone, 21 in the Regina zone, and one in the South Central zone.

To date, there have been 776,997 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 3,354 COVID-19 tests processed.

There were 8,527 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 443,669.

The doses were administered in the following zones: 86 in Far North West, 22 in Far North East, eight in Far North Central, 714 in North West, 562 in North Central, 111 in North East, 1,804 in Saskatoon, 2,659 in Regina, 141 in Central West, 748 in Central East, 36 in South West zone, 491 in South East zone, and 834 in South East zones.  

There were 311 doses administered with zone of residence pending.
