The Rosetown RCMP are no stranger to fraud reports in their community. The fraudulent behaviour hasn't taken a break as even more activity of that nature was noted in the Rosetown RCMP report for August 18 to August 24.

On both August 22 and 23 there were reports of fraud made. One case saw insufficient evidence to proceed, while the other is currently under investigation.

With the threat of fraud apparently well and alive in Rosetown, the local detachment shared the following message warding against scam artists.

"There have been numerous reports of scam phone calls. The nature of the calls includes individuals telling people that they have won the Stars Lottery or their bank account has been compromised. Scammers are requesting people to purchase iTunes, Google Play or VISA cards or to give the numbers on the back of the cards."

As always they remind people to never, under any circumstances, give any personal information to unknown individuals or purchase any type of cards. If there is any doubt, always call the RCMP before agreeing to a callers requests.
