A new national report identifies priorities for the profitability of Canada's Wheat Industry.

Cereals Canada Chief Executive Officer Cam Dahl says in the 2017 Canadian Wheat Research Priorities Report that they developed five key priorities to focus on over the next five years in order to ensure the strength and growth of the wheat industry in Canada.

"Ensuring that we have growth in wheat yield stability - ensuring again that year-to-year variation is minimized; ensuring that we have the quality that our customers are demanding. Sustainability is important for our farmers, it's important for our country. Look at sustainability as reducing crop inputs and reducing costs while improving the environmental footpring. And the fifth is disease resistance."

The 2017 Canadian Wheat Research Priorities Report was developed through a national collaboration of the industry from farmers and government, to private companies and research institutions, right to exporters, and processors.
