One of our local music contacts here at West Central Online, Leader's Berk Jodoin is always seemingly up to something.

Whether it be helping others out with music, or his own friends with their projects, Jodoin loves being around the studio atmosphere.

He was a recent guest artist on a new release 'Goodbye Lou', as Jodoin has collaborated with the lead artist Will Ardell Music in the past. Now their makeshift band is working on a music video that you could be part of with a trip to the Elbow Hotel on the evening of July 31.

You may have heard a Will Ardell track spinning on Country 104. Jodoin talked about recent song and the opportunity that's coming with it.

"Really good buddy of mine Will Ardell asked me and another buddy, Jolie Blue to sing on one of his tracks." started Jodoin, "We are going to shoot the video at the Elbow Hotel on July 31."

They are hoping for some willing background talent.

"If you are in the area, pop in and we will put you on video. You will be immortalized in a music video for ever-and-ever." he laughed.

Jodoin also has some new music on the way. For his new album Jodoin wanted to put out a new "sound".

"We've been in the studio pretty steady now for a few months. Really ironing out the new album," said Jodoin who might be looking for that new sound, but still wants to keep the main theme of his music. "The same depth in storytelling, but the term we have been throwing around in the studio is 'organic'. I think we have accomplished that with some really cool songs, and I am looking forward to letting those out into the universe in the near future."

Jodoin isn't one to try and make every song a hit. He believes albums are supposed to paint a bigger picture.

"I am kind of old school where I still want to do the whole album. I want to take the listener on a journey through the album listening track-by-track, you know what I mean?"

Listening to music has always been about the experience. Jodoin once had someone tell him, 'albums are a waste of good songs', but that's only for people who let it be true.

"That's not true, because I still listen to albums!" the local musician laughed. It's becoming a lost art. "I'm sure some other people do!"

Taking his talents all over so far this year, Jodoin's next big mark on the calendar sees him heading to Kelowna, BC from October 11 to 14 for the BreakoutWest Festival.
