Did you get a chance to see the meteor last night?

Chris Herd, associate professor of Earth and Atmospheric sciences at the University of Alberta, says to see something from that far away indicates the meteoroid is probably a good size.

He says that pinpointing the location of any meteorites depends on two factors, people calling in to say they've found such space rocks, and people calling to report how far a field the fireball was spotted.

Some farmer in West Central Saskatchewan may find an unusual rock or pile of rocks in his field next spring.
People got so excited that Mounties in Lloydminster, on the Alberta-Saskatchewan boundary, issued a news release asking people to stop calling them.

Ryan Tunall with the Classic Hits Energy Dodge Wake Up Club  fielded many calls this morning on the meteor sighting.

Truly once in lifetime event.
