A case of assault unfolded in the Macklin area late last week.

Back on Friday, February 3rd, 2023, it was the Unity RCMP that received notification from Provost's RCMP Detachment that a Macklin area man was phoning the Alberta town's RCMP detachment and threatening the staff there.

Unity RCMP members attended to Macklin where they located the suspect male, who was intoxicated and armed with a baseball bat which he threatened the member with it when they attempted to arrest him.

Afterwards the male went back into his residence and the Unity RCMP obtained a warrant to enter and arrest him. The male was arrested in his residence after assaulting the arresting officers.

As a result, Jason Ross Tucker (age 50) of Macklin was charged and remanded to North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday February 6th.

On February 6th Tucker was again remanded, at that time to appear again on Wednesday, February 8th on the following Criminal Charges:

  • Uttering Theats x2,
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose,
  • Assault with a Weapon,
  • Assault on a Police Officer

That was just one of the calls listed in the recent report for Unity, Wilkie, and Macklin RCMP.
