The provincial government reported 53 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday but did so with a slight caveat. The case numbers that were released were due to incomplete data being downloaded into the provincial database. Noting this, they stated the numbers released on Sunday will include the data that was excluded from the report on Saturday.

In addition to the new cases, there were two deaths linked to COVID-19 included in the update. There have now been 893 deaths in Saskatchewan linked to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in March of 2020.

There were 168 people who were reported as in hospital Saturday, which was down by 12 from Friday. Of those, 48 were in intensive care receiving treatment. This was an increase of one from Friday. There are also 12 Saskatchewan residents currently in intensive care in Ontario. Those patients are not included in the provincial update.

The update indicated there were another 815 COVID-19 vaccines administered. The vaccination numbers always lag by 48 hours, so these numbers were from November 11th. With 258 first doses and 557 second doses, 69.4 percent of the province’s total population is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
