Jenn McLean is a Kindersley Realtor who has worked many different cases. Whether it be helping out with a first house purchase, assisting a seller looking to re-locate their family, or even people looking to buy their second homes; Jenn has been there to help and looks forward to continuing in that role for many years to come.

Jenn became licensed as a Realtor in 2016, with the intent of fulfilling goals in her work and home life. She certainly set herself up to be successful, but is still a mother of two who enjoys her life at home.

“Initially I was just thinking I would love to have a career where I could create my own hours, but also not be limited in what a typical office setting position would offer.” said McLean. “Being able to be my own boss was definitely one of the top reasons.”

She referenced the many chances she takes be a mom during her day-to-day life, while explaining how it doesn’t mean her work takes a backseat.

“Honestly there’s nothing wrong with being a mom that works everyday, but still gets those meals delivered to your home because that’s what will take the pressure off.” said McLean, “I love to cook, and bake, and be that mom that is there for the kids at the end of the day. I’m also spending my time when they go bed; answering emails, inquiries, and that’s just what I have to do to get the job done.”

She knows it’s cliché to say how important it is to “maintain a balance” in life, but knowing what to focus your energy on is really what it comes down to for McLean.

She says the best parts of her job include the new people she gets to meet everyday, that she probably wouldn’t in normal circumstances. She enjoys seeing into peoples homes and getting a sense of how they live, and using that to help her do the best job possible.

McLean finds that she is someone who enjoys helping people, especially women in the workplace, but it is easy to forget that everyone in her career is technically working against each-other. Still she referred to her colleagues as her “rocks”, and appreciates the work bond that is present in her office.

“No matter what you do in Real Estate, you are viewed as competition with everybody within your office.” explained McLean, “Regardless of how well you all get along, you still are competitive with each-other.”

“That would be one of the biggest hurdles I’ve found”

This atmosphere has made it tough for McLean at times to boost other women as much as she would like, but she still tries to bring as many people along with her as she can.

She was excited to be one of the notable women featured on West Central Online for International Women’s Day. She was born, raised, and now works in Kindersley, and is passionate about helping her clients with their west central real estate needs.
