Things came together quite nicely for the U11 Kindersley Royals, as they went a perfect 5-0 on their way to a Tier 6 AA provincial championship on home soil.

We caught up with assistant coach Tyler McKee to talk about the big win, and he stated everything came together at exactly the right time.

"The pitching was really good. It seemed as soon as the weekend hit, everything clicked, whether it was defense, pitching and hitting, everything showed up at the right time."

The tournament did not of course go without any adversity, as McKee explained.

" Our semi-final game to get us to final was probably the biggest game of the weekend. We were down 2-1 to Cudworth in the bottom of the sixth inning and we ended up walking it off to win 3-2."

McKee then gave a shout out to all who made the provincial win a possibility.

“I’d like to give a shout out to head coach Tom Freeman. He did an awesome job. Another shout out to assistant coach Dean Becker, who also did an awesome job and can't forget about our manager Lori Freeman. She was unbelievable, and even the whole tournament committee did an amazing job for the weekend and most importantly, the kids for just being awesome all weekend.”
