As training camp is set to start, another spot on the forward core just opened up after the Klippers traded 2002 born forward Boston Maxwell to the Melfort Mustangs in exchange for a player-development fee (PDF) near noon on Friday.

Maxwell has been in the SJHL since the 2019-2020 season where he started with the La Ronge Ice Wolves for the first 18 games of the season and only managed a single goal to his start sheet, but then he joined the Klippers for the remaining 25 games of the season and put together eight points (1G, 7A) as an 18 year old.

Head Coach and GM Ken Plaquin has stated in the past that players who actually got a chance to play some sustained hockey last year may have an advantage over some of the veterans who would have only managed six games in the SJHL last year before the season was cut off.

Training camp is set to start in the coming days with the first pre-season game scheduled for September 6th against the Battlefords North Stars.
