A busy stretch in hockey is always a little bit easier when you get the wins early, and with five games in six nights for the Kindersley Jr. Klippers, they've started off on the right foot. After earning the win Tuesday night, they followed up with two big offensive periods and a slower third to earn their second straight win over the Weyburn Red WIngs 4-3.

The first period was a bit of a slow start for the Klippers. In the first six minutes, the Red Wings spent most of their time in the Klippers' zone, but the Klippers didn't give up much for shots.

Then the Klippers got a powerplay and that seemed to change everything. A pretty clear two handed chop sent Nolan Henderson to the box for slashing, and shots came from every direction. There was three shots from the point that goaltender Boston Gelowitz had now business stopping, but due to good positioning and the puck sticking to him with every save he made for a faceoff, the Red Wings left the powerplay unscathed but the momentum had shifted.

From a 2-2 shot tie shortly before the powerplay, the Klippers had a 13-4 advantage by the halfway mark of the period and 14 minutes in they'd finally get the game's first goal. On the rush down the right side of the ice, Jaxon Georget had the puck and made a nice pass around a diving defender to Andrew Schaab who tucked it home for his first goal since being traded from the Nipawin Hawks.

Shortly after the goal, Brett Sweet in his first start since December 17 would have a scrum form in front of him and he'd take a whack at the bottom of the pile that he didn't like, and as bodies formed around him Sweet was nabbed for slashing from the bottom of the pile. The short penalty kill went very well for the Klippers limited chances, and they would the period with the lead and over a minute of penalty to kill to start the second.

After 1: Klippers 1 - 0 Red Wings, shots 19-9 Klippers

Despite starting with period with 1:17 left of the Sweet penalty, the Klippers had a good start to the period. That was the surprise then when five minutes in the Red Wings tied up the game when Ty Mason down the left side of the ice when he wired a wrist shot that hit the crossbar. There was a little controversy on the goal as it looked like it never went in the net, but the call on the ice was a goal and the game was tied.

The Klippers then went on a run through the middle of the period. It started with Andrew Schaab scoring his second of the game off a pass from behind the net by Georget, and Schaab had a full two seconds at the side of the net to pick his spot short side to put his team back ahead eight minutes in.

Then 13 minutes into the period, Brayden Koch sent the puck up the right side of the ice to the Red Wings blueline where Carson Baylis had to battle for the puck, and it squirted free to Coletyn Boyarski for a breakaway. He didn't miss with a wrist shot as he entered the slot to make it 3-1 with assists to both Baylis and Koch.

Just under two minutes later, and the Klippers extended their lead with another breakaway goal. Josh Pufahl picked up the puck in front of his own net and cleared it towards the side for Noah Lindsay, and Lindsay made a gorgeous feed with a finesse pass in the air that dropped behind the Red Wings defence and right on the stick of Andrew Blocker in stride, and Blocker's shot would hit the back of the net and lead to a goaltender change for the Red Wings bringing Jackson Fellner back in from the night before.

The rest of the period was dominated by the Klippers, but they ran into some bad luck again in the last minute of the period. Kirk Mullen scored two near identical goals separated by just 36 seconds, both times Mullen drove the net and got a pass from the left to redirect the puck in from two feet away, the first off his foot, the second off his stick, and a dominant period would end closer than expected for the Klippers.

After 2: Klippers 4 - 3 Red Wings, shots 15-12 Klippers in the period, 34-21 Klippers overall

The Klippers third period was a little slower than it probably should have been, but they locked things up defensively to keep the Red Wings from scoring. An early roughing call on Matt Mazzochi gave the Red Wings a chance to build some momentum to carry through the rest of the period.

There was a couple times in the period where the Red Wings caused a scrum in front of the net and that's where they had the majority of chances, so while they put some good shot numbers on the board, but not a ton of high quality chances.

The game had some drama with 4:17 left when Nathan DeGraves was sent to the box for spearing, giving the Red Wings a lot of time to work with to try and tie it. The first two minutes of that long powerplay saw the Klippers clear the puck down the ice easily, but time pressed on and the Red Wings started to generate some chances near the end of the period with their goalie pulled and a 6-on-4. The penalty ended, the Red Wings sent one towards the net that was stopped, but a pile formed with all five Klippers on the ice in the crease to try and block the puck or sweep it away, and the whistle took forever to finally be blown. With eight seconds on the board, the Klippers won the faceoff to the wall and pinned it their to earn the win.

FINAL: Klippers 4 - 3 Red Wings, shots 17-6 Red Wings in the period, 40-38 Klippers overall
