Last time the Kindersley Jr Klippers were in Humboldt, the score was 3-1 Broncos heading into the third period before the Broncos powerplay went to work and ran the score up to 7-1. With their playoff window slowly closing in front of them, the Klippers again ran into some penalty trouble in the third to lose 4-1.

Every period in this game was a little bit different, and the first was definitely the most defensive of the three. The game was tight checking to the walls as neither team managed a shot through the first few minutes as most offensive zone entries were stopped at the half-wall, or with a dump and chase the defence was able to corral and send the other way.

Not a penalty for either team in the entire period was called, and the Klippers did get out to an early shot lead before the Broncos made a push back, and things evened out from there. Jaxon Georget had the best opportunity of the period when Broncos goaltender Rayce Ramsay played the puck behind the net and Georget was able to turn the puck over as Ramsay skated back to the crease, and Georget's shot hit the side of the net.

At the other end, the Broncos best chance came late in the period on the rush when a forward dropped the puck back as he entered the zone to Alec Saretzky, and Saretzky fired a hard wrist shot from the top of the left circle only to be robbed with a flashy glove save from Matt Pesenti.

After 1: Klippers 0 - 0 Broncos, shots 9-6 Broncos

The Broncos took the lead just eight seconds into the second period. Off the initial faceoff, Jerzy Orchard won the puck back to Noah Barlage at the blueline, and he skated ahead and faked the dump in before he passed it ahead for James Form. In his first game back since January, Form cut down the ice on a quickly developing 2-on-1 and he had way too much time and space as he skated right into the middle of the slot and fired a shot from in tight to beat Pesenti's glove.

After that, the Klippers got their first powerplay of the game when Noah Barlage was called on a crosscheck, and the Klippers powerplay actually looked really good. They managed three shots in the first minute of the man advantage before the rest of the man advantage was spent cycling and looking for a lane to shoot, but still nothing went through.

Just over seven minutes in, the Broncos extended their lead on a bad luck play. The Klippers gave up a 3-on-1 after a turnover at centre with Nathan DeGraves being the lone defenceman coming back. DeGraves had a man tight to his left, directly in front of him, and the puck carrier Alex Morozoff just out of pokecheck reach to his right. DeGraves did everything right, stayed in the middle to block the passing lane as best he could, laid down flat to cover more area and made an amazing play to reach back and block the pass, but the puck bounced back to Morozoff behind the goal line and he just whacked the puck, off the side of Pesenti, and in.

Then with Charles Obobaifo in the box for the Broncos first powerplay of the game, the Broncos extended their lead. After Aiden Bangs and Matt Mazzocchi nearly scored on a shorthanded 2-on-1 the other way, the Broncos brought it back  and cycled the puck from the blueline to in tight at the left side of the Klippers net where the league's leading scorer Connor McGrath showed why he leads the league when he fired a wrist shot from a near impossible angle to beat Pesenti over the glove.

The Klippers killed another penalty after that before the Klippers were given a long 5-on-3 for themselves. On that two man advantage, the Klippers got one back after Brayden Koch set up a onetimer for Tylin Hilbig from the point, and the puck bounced off a Broncos defenceman and into the back of the net. After that, the Klippers couldn't score on the lone man advantage after that and the game would go into the third tight.

Pesenti had two incredible saves in the period, including one where he stopped a onetimer with a kick save that popped right out to Jerzy Orchard in the slot, and Pesenti from the splits was able to get the glove up in time to stop the rebound opportunity.

After 2: Klippers 1 - 3 Broncos, shots 15-13 Broncos in the period, 24-19 Broncos overall

In the third, the Klippers struggled. Just over three minutes in, the Broncos scored again when the puck squirted out from the corner into the air and Ethan Zielke was able to glove the puck down right in the slot. He didn't even take the time to settle the puck, he just swatted at it and scored to restore the three goal lead.

From there, the game was all Broncos. Connor Casparie was called for roughing after the whistle on the goal, but the Klippers registered a single shot on the powerplay before being sent back into their own zone. The Broncos would continue to hammer the Klippers with chances, and Pesenti would continue to make save after save to try and keep his team in it.

The Klippers took three straight penalties in the period which only gave the Broncos more to work with, and it wouldn't be until the last few seconds of the period when the Klippers would get their next two shots of the period.

FINAL: Klippers 1 - 4 Broncos, shots 21-3 Broncos in the period, 45-22 Broncos overall
