The 2017-2018 Kindersley Klippers were honoured during this year's awards banquet.

The night featured a great deal of prestigious hardware and even the chance to salute the careers of the graduating 20 year olds on this year's team.

Justen Close received the Most Valuable Player, along with the year's 1st star award. At the start of the evening, an announcement was made that Close secured the Top Goaltender Award for the 2017-2018 SJHL season along with Nipawin Hawks netminder Declan Hobbs.

Forwards Tanner Thompson and Austin Nault will have their names engraved on trophies as well.

Nault received the Community Involvement award along with Thomas Bollefer and the Rookie of the Year award with Will van der Sloot. Thompson took the Coach's Award with Curtis Pek, while receiving the team's 2nd star.

20-year-old Klippers Tanner Thompson, Cole Plotnikoff, Curtis Peck, Brody Ryberg, Keillan Olson and Nik Malenica were recognized at the banquet as well.

The group of six are in their final year of eligibility in the SJHL. Head coach and general manager Geoff Grimwood had a speech for each player, and once he was finished, every 20-year-old gave thanks to the board, staff and people in attendance at the banquet.
