Yesterday afternoon marked the regimental Funeral for EPS Constables Travis Jordan and Brett Ryan, taking place through Downtown Edmonton.

Back on March 16th, Edmonton Police Service released news that two patrol officers, Constables Travis Jordan and Brett Ryan, were killed while responding to a call.

Local members made statements shortly after along with other people surrounding the situation, and it wasn't long before mourning was taking place Canada wide. Policing members all over were left speechless by the news, offering their condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and community members affected by the terrible situation that took place a few weeks back.

We reached out to different RCMP detachments from around the area. It was tough news for anyone to take, let alone for fellow members in the line of duty.

This response to the situation comes from Staff Sergeant Kevin Peterson of the Kindersley RCMP:

"We at the Kindersley Detachment, and in fact the rest of the RCMP, were devastated to learn of the murder of two of our colleagues in Edmonton and our condolences go out to the families and friends and colleagues of the two fallen officers." stated Staff Sergeant Kevin Peterson. "These tragic deaths serve as a grim reminder of the dangers faced by police across the country everyday and our thoughts are with our partners at the Edmonton Police Service."

That same message has been echoed from detachments across the country:
