Some great baseball action began this morning here in Kindersley. Following the coaches meeting at 9:00 am, the Cabri River Rats took on the Standard Hill Lakers in the first game of the 2022 Senior AA Tier 2 Provincials.

Those two teams are joined by the host Kindersley Stallions, another local team in the Wilkie Brewers, and the another NSRBL team in the North Battleford Beavers rounds out the list.

West Central Online spoke with member of the Stallions Blake Robertson to get a breakdown of what all is going on this weekend at the local diamonds.

"Beer gardens are set up ready to go all weekend. There is a food truck behind the grandstand that will be there all weekend. We will have a 50/50 running throughout, with a few volunteers running around so it should be a great weekend."

When asked about the team's focus headed into their final action of the season, Robertson says they are excited and ready to go following a long break after losing out to Wilkie in playoffs.

"We didn't really like having that three week stretch off. Had a couple of exhibition games to tune up and we have been practicing," said Robertson, "Everyone is really pumped up. I think it's anyone's game, we've got five super even teams so it's going to be some real good ball to watch."

Check out the full schedule for the weekend above as the Stallions first game is a 1:00 pm start against the North Battleford Beavers, and then they will be back on the diamond tonight when they reinvigorate the Sask Landing Cup rivalry against the Cabri River Rats at 7:00pm.
