Kindersley’s annual Carol festival got attendees in the Christmas spirit on Sunday evening. The festival featured 24 holiday carols performed live at St. Paul’s United Church in Kindersley.

A freewill donation was held at the door with proceeds going to the Kindersley and District Music Festival Association. Every year, the Kindersley and District Music Festival is held in March. The festival brings over 300 music students to Kindersley for a few weeks to put their musical talents on display and reward their hard work with scholarship opportunities. The town partners with the Saskatchewan Music Festival Association to put on the competitive music festival annually. Local winners over the age of 16 can be selected by the judges to compete at the Provincial Music Festival competition.

The Community Carol Festival is put on as a fundraiser and to raise awareness for the Kindersley and District Music Festival Association, but also works to bring the town together using music.

A good crowd of around 150 people enjoyed various arrangements of recognizable Christmas music performed by a wide variety of local instrumentalists, soloists and ensembles including members of the St.Paul's United Church Choirs.
