The Kindersley Chamber of Commerce is hosting their second annual golf tournament later this month.

It goes Saturday, August 27th with registration at 10:00 am, and a shotgun start at 11:00. Preferably mixed teams of four players will play 18 holes in a best ball format, and as Executive Director of the Chamber Kevin Martin explains, there is a lot more going on than just the tournament.

"We are having a big putting contest after the golf itself, and there's a $500 booze basket up for grabs there," laughed Martin, "There will be lots of games on the course too. We did lots last year, and are trying to have some different things this year."

Each hole sponsor for the event has a special idea planned, making it a win-win of an opportunity for what the Chamber tries to promote. The facetime with others is what Martin is really looking forward too with the return of the golf tournament this year.

"It's just a way for people to get out and bond and have a few laughs, a great supper afterwards as well. Last year we had just a great time, it was amazing, and it helped that the weather cooperated that's for sure," said Martin, "We're hoping to put our order in with mother nature early, get at least a sunny day."

Martin says they are still looking for about ten teams to sign up for the end of August event, though he understands people may just be non-committal at the moment.

"It seems a little to far out maybe to commit to it. There is a lot of interest, but not enough interest to register a team for some people."

There will be lots of prizes available for everyone during the day, and Martin expects a similar experience to last year's impressive event for anyone that might be interested in putting a team in for the end of the month.
