December is here which means a seasonal event returns for another year at The Kerrobert Courtroom Gallery. The annual Festival of Trees begins tonight and features many unique activities and attractions.

Until 8:30 visitors can take in a display of trees, hot apple cider, treat bags, and carol singing.

Frigid temperatures have unfortunately forced cancellations and changes to some activities, says Chairperson for The Courthouse Restoration Society, Staci Hall.

“Because of the weather conditions today we've cancelled our tobogganing, but we're still going to have public skating at the rink from 2:00 to 4:15, and we also have hayrides and hot dogs from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, which will be at the courthouse.”

Despite the cold weather, regularly scheduled events will take place around Kerrobert, Hall adds.

“A twinkle tour will take place tonight, so residents in the long-term care are asked to have their Christmas lights on by 6:30. There's also museum tours and the library is open until 7:00 tonight with story time at 5:30 and 6:30 featuring guest reader Mrs. Zerr, as well as some take and make crafts.”

Lastly, Santa will make an appearance at the Christmas village which will be set up on 432 Atlantic. The village will be open on and off throughout December.
