The Kindersley Jr. Klippers and Weyburn Red Wings played at Crescent Point Place Saturday night. The Red Wings got on the board first in this one, as Simon Pollock fought through an Aidan Bangs check, and went upstairs on a nice pass from Jakob Kalin.

The Red Wings were celebrating Parent/Billet Weekend, and they gave the fans a lot to cheer about in this one. In the second period, Weyburn doubled their lead with Jackson Hassman finishing off a nice rush down the right side, and going short side, bar down on Cody Jaman. The goal was Hassman's 17th of the season. The Wings kept coming, with Nicholas Kovacs scoring a powerplay goal to widen the margin. Kovacs goal was his 3rd of the season.

Then the Klippers got a glimmer of hope, with Alex Mack scoring his first goal in Kindersley colours on the powerplay, it was his 2nd overall on the season. Danton Cox and Nathan DeGraves got the assists, and things look good heading into the third.

But it was all Red Wings in the third period, including a pair of goals by hometown Red Wing Ty Mason, his 17th and 18th of the season on a 2-on-1 and then a 3-on-1 so, no chance at all for Jaman. Blake Betson and Simon Pollock added insult to injury with a couple of more goals, and the Red Wings pounded the Klippers 7-1. One positive out of this poor game for Kindersley was Cash Arntsen getting the take down victory in a fight against Nolan Henderson.

Kindersley gets a week off now with Cody Jaman and Tylin Hilbig headed to the MJHL/SJHL Showcase in Winnipeg this week. The games will be played on January 31 and February 1.

The next action for the Jr. Klippers will be this upcoming Sunday, February 5, with the Melfort Mustangs coming to town for a special matinee game at 4:00 pm at the WCEC.
