Jr. Klippers off-season signing Aidan Bangs didn’t record a point in any of the Klippers three games before the SJHL pause, but the soon to be 19 year old forward is relishing his opportunity with the team thanks to a prior relationship between himself and Klippers Head Coach Ken Plaquin.

Bangs played his midget hockey in Calgary, and his opportunity in Kindersley is likely due to the impression he made on Plaquin during last season.

“He’s just a fantastic kid to have on the team.” said his head coach, “I really, really wanted him to play this year when I got the job, he was one of my primary recruits. He’s highly skilled, a great skater, a very smart hockey player and also just a very smart person.

“He’s the type of guy I would have wanted on my team when I was younger.”

Bangs carried the same sentiment when he was asked about coming to Kindersley, stating the situation just felt right.

“When he got this job with COVID and everything, he gave me a guarantee and I am happy to be here.”

Bangs is one of the Klippers currently practicing in Kindersley, as coach says he is still trying to keep practice fresh and fun for his young guys, though he definitely knows they are better off than most of their at-home teammates.
