Isabelle, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2022. She was born in Prince Albert, SK. on January 7, 1925 to parents George and Eleanor Evans and was the fourth child in a family of seven. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Darlene (Floyd) Kirkendall; her sons, Dwayne Dahl, Darrell (Avis) Dahl; her grandchildren Tammy (Tim) Schneider, Sherry (Mervin) Kroeger, Bradley (Kristen) Hager, Ryan (Melissa) Kirkendall, Lisa (Ken Ames) Rowe, Dawn (Kevin) Read, Delan (Lauren) Dahl, Brendan Dahl, Graham (Maral) Dahl and Joleine (Jaret) Keith: greatgrandchildren Tessa (fiance, Cody Yarema) and Taryn Schneider, Cody, Kallie and Kassie Kroeger, Benjamin and Bruin Hager, Allee, Jaxon and Mason Kirkendall, Jenna and Tyson Rowe, Payden Parent and her son Jude, Morgan Read, Rhodes Dahl and Easton Dahl; brother, Everett Evans and sister, Dorothy Schneider: sisters-in-law Jean Dahl and Donna Dahl: and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Martin Dahl, sisters Beth Byggdin, Ruth Riddell, and Hazel Belsher, and her brother Lawrence Evans, son-in-law Bernie Hager, brothers-in-law Wallace Byggdin, Harold Riddell, Hans Schneider, Elvin Dahl, Kenneth Dahl, Aron Dahl, Leonard Dahl, and sisters-in-law Madge Evans, Alice Evans, Edith Evans, Yvette Dahl, Doreen Dahl, and Irene Dahl. Isabelle spent her early years in Davis, SK and after Grade 12 graduation in Prince Albert she attended Normal school in Saskatoon, and taught in a few one room schools in western rural Saskatchewan. She met Martin Dahl of Mantario, while teaching in that district and they were married October 11, 1949. The two of them established a grain farm, raised their family and were involved in this community until their retirement from the farm in 1999.

During those years, Isabelle also taught elementary grades in Mantario, Eatonia and Kindersley’s Westberry School. She superannuated from teaching in 1983. They were faithful members of the Church of the Nazarene in Mantario and then St Olaf’s Lutheran Church in Kindersley. Martin and Isabelle resided together in the Sierra’s of Erindale in Saskatoon until his passing in 2009, and she continued to live there until this past March when her declining health required her to move to assisted living at Bethany Manor.

They had many friends and good memories made at the Sierras, and Isabelle then appreciated the kind and caring staff at Bethany. Isabelle’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were spoiled with her wonderful home cooking and baking. They also learned the value of reading from the first time they enjoyed a good book on her lap. It was the little ones that gave her tremendous joy as they entered this world. Isabelle believed in improving the lives of those less fortunate than herself, giving generously to many charities. Her faith and devotion to the Lord has given us comfort that she is receiving her well-deserved peace in Heaven.
