Biggar RCMP detachment members are on the hunt for a pair of suspects following an attempted armed robbery with a firearm in town on Thursday morning. As a result people in town could be noticing a few more cruisers around town, and police are seeking information on this situation from the public.

According to the report, at approximately 12:45 AM on Thursday morning Biggar RCMP received the initial call concerning a residence located on the 200th block of 2nd Avenue East in Biggar, SK.

Their response quickly determined that two suspects were involved in the attempted robbery. The duo were unable to enter the residence, later departing on foot. The release did state that the occupant of the residence did not sustain any physical injury in relation to the incident.

The police report describes the suspects as being between approximately 5’6” and 5’10”, with slim builds, and both had their faces covered.

More information is being gathered for better descriptions, as police have conducted a thorough search of the exterior of the residence, neighbourhood inquiries, and are doing their best to follow-up on information provided to them by the public.

The Saskatchewan RCMP Media Relations release stated residents in the community can expect an increased police presence for an undetermined amount of time as police work to locate and identify the individuals involved. They want people to know the investigation is ongoing, and officers remain committed to notifying the public should an elevated risk to their safety be identified.
