It was a short, and not so sweet adjournment from the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly yesterday after the passing of Regina Walsh Acres MLA Derek Meyers.
After prayers opened the Tuesday afternoon sitting, House Speaker Randy Weekes recognized the Honourable Ms. Harpauer.
"It is with deep sadness that I wish to inform this House of the passing of the member from Regina Walsh Acres, a man who truly served his province well," stated the Deputy Premier, "He will be missed by all. With respect for him and his family, I ask that we adjourn the House.
Weekes then presented the motion to adjourn the House, and it was the pleasure of the Assembly to adopt and carry the motion.
"This House now stands adjourned until 1:30 tomorrow." said Weekes.
Today is a difficult day as we mourn the loss of our friend and colleague Derek Meyers, MLA for Regina Walsh Acres.
