The Kindersley Jr. Klippers and Nipawin Hawks played a high scoring game Friday night at the West Central Events Centre. Kindersley came out fast with four goals by four different goal scorers. Matthew Mazzocchi scored first on a bounce off a Nipawin defenseman. Rosetown product Kayden Ostrom doubled the lead. Then Josh Pufahl scored a nice one while teams were four skaters aside. Then Cash Arntsen made it 4-0. Nipawin answered back with a goal late in the opening period off a nice rush by Reid Mackay, as he passed it over to Alex Johnson for a tap in goal.

The Hawks came out fast and furious in the second scoring four of their own to take a 5-4 lead heading into the third period. Scoring for the Hawks was Joel Mabin, Alyandro De Leon, Reese Malkewich and Reid Mackay.

Nipawin kept the pedal to the medal in the third scoring a pair, including the second of the night for both De Leon and Johnson to skate away with a 7-4 victory.

The Hawks dominated this game from the second period on, and all four goaltenders were used in this high scoring affair. A grand total of 97 shots were recorded in this game to go along with the 11 goals. So, both teams will have to be better defensively in tomorrow's night's rematch, particularly the Kindersley Jr. Klippers.

Game time tomorrow is 7:30 pm from the West Central Events Centre.
